I would, but we say we will and boast about this. What is it for Peter to denie christ three times and betray him. Yet even though not even an entire day has passed from the garden of gethsamane were he said”even if the others betray,i shalt not”. We have all denied christ but I guarentee that once we put our faith in Him we will surely be saved. But if he had taken the place of Christ, it would not do anything. We are sinful, and lost, we are not the incarnation of he, the son of man. But the point you try to make here, for what its worth, is that would we steak our beliefs. The way peter died was crucificixtion, but not the exact thing that happened to Christ. If the point made by this song and by you is, that if we were questioned are faith or persecuted just a jesus followers would we say what is true and live to speak the word. If someone demanded you at gun point to say the following scenario statement”Denounce all things Christian, and give into the worlds view” what would you do. “Would you take the place of this man.”Great song!
